But if you want it so badly, why is it so hard to change?
It all comes down to patterns. As humans, we have a natural “fight or flight” response to danger. But in the modern world our “danger” is stress. It’s emotional rather than physical - yet our bodies respond in the same way. We have a strong, primal desire to either run away from or fight any situations that male is uncomfortable.
And so we respond to stressful situations either by hiding from them or lashing out. We shut down, we shut people out. We get angry and defensive. We reject opportunities that make us unsure of yourselves. Some even avoid pain through drug and alcohol use.
Basically, we do whatever it takes to “escape” to try and survive.
And it works. For the moment at least. We chase away the scary thing. So we use this defense over and over again until it becomes a pattern. We’re threatened, we react instinctively, and we get relief, so we do it again next time.
⚬ But if we don’t track down the problem and deal with it, it just comes back.

Hi, I’m Deborah Cooper, your Host and Facilitator for this Workshop.
I wanted to write a quick note to introduce myself and let you know what to expect at this event.
I’m Australasia’s first Master Certified Demartini Method Facilitator.
